It is important to do things that inspire your kids. When I heard about the back story of the Connor’s Run I was so moved that I knew I had to be a part of it.

Fundraising to help brain matters make a break through in paediatric brain cancer research that will one day end peadiatric brain cancer which is the #1 killer of young people.
⭐️
We did the 9.6km. It was definitely a challenge for me and I’m glad we did it and made it through.
⭐️
The kids had interesting questions and we hope we have inspired them to do something similar in the future.

100 days of prep wizzed by! The boys had to wear a tshirt with 100 items on it and we got creative. If you have been following us for awhile I’m sure you can figure out which tshirt belongs to which kid!
It was a wonderful celebration at school acknowledging their efforts or learning to read, write, count, spell and so many other wonderful life skills.

Late post… better late than never right ? (super cliche) anyways as you know it was this week and I saw some wonderful educational posts and I saw our story book and bookish props being used for play trays! It absolutely made my heart happy!
These beautiful creatures are very special and we have loved supporting with their conservation efforts! I’m literally counting down the days we get to go visit and be apart of it all.
We released this cutie during our last visit. If you haven’t visited them you must! They are located in Kosgoda, Sri Lanka and is the BEST conservation centre I have ever been to. (Been to so many). Their main aim is to educate you and get you involved in their conservation of Sea Turtles!

Happy 75th “Independence” Day to Sri Lanka. Whether we can truely celebrate this day and consider the country independent is a topic far too advance for the kids! But I’m sure the adults would have their share of opinions on it.
Anyways I created a play tray to celebrate Sri Lanka. My home and the boys home the past 4 years. The boys still talk about Sri Lanka and we look forward to visiting soon.
This little country has so much to offer, so many breathtaking places to see. From beautiful warm beaches to cool hill country. The people are warm and friendly and thinking about the food makes my mouth water.
If you haven’t visited you should definitely add it to your bucket list of places to go. Play tray made out of sensory rice, chickpeas and coloured bicarb-soda.
You will have to catch our stories later to see the fizzy ocean.

First after school activity for the year and this was requested by the boys. Not too sure why they wanted Gingerbread men but we got these cute gingerbread decorating kit from the local bakers.
Everyone had a go at decorating a cookie and we had a blast! Pairing it with a fun book.

100% child led! I had not planned nor given any direction to berry to make this wonderful recycled craft that went brilliantly well with this book about feelings.

Berry found some cardboard in the recycling bin and had cut out the hearts, coloured them in with textures and then glued them together with sticky tape.
🧡
He has been so busy these summer holidays with tons of crafts that are made 100% by him without any guidance.
💛
While I’m thinking about making sensory puzzles or other cardboard creations I haven’t really gotten around to any of it.
💜
We read the book once the crafts were complete and spoke about how our hearts are currently feeling.
💚
This book by Jo Witek is a great one to have simple conversations about big feelings kids may have and how it’s OK to have each and every one of those feelings.

Our Story

Hi my name is Dhineli, a mum to twin boys. We started our play based learning journey over a year ago when my boys were little over 18 mo. I wanted to find ways to use every day play to teach them letters, colours, numbers & life skills.

We use sensory play and play based learning techniques to make learning simple, fun and engaging.
