Before I get into it, I don’t care how overly long and cringe this post is, it’s my introduction and I was feelin’ inspired.

So, I made a heap of cakes back in March 2022! When I made this series of cakes (I will soon be posting pictures of), I initially thought that this would be a one off art project for my bachelor of fine arts course.

The idea of this series of work was to put unusual or deeply intimate statements/thoughts/questions onto these fun and happy looking cakes. The idea was to disrupt the typical context of nicely decorated cakes to create something humorous and slightly dark. Customarily cakes are something we have at a celebration of some kind, usually positive events! But why can’t we celebrate our everyday emotions? Why not celebrate the more mundane day to day occupancies? Why can’t we express these thoughts and feelings openly?

Well I say; f**k it!!! We definitely can. And we will. This isn’t just an art project for myself anymore. This is for everyone. Cakes, cupcakes, whatever you desire, can be made to order, with your own words iced onto them! I hope whoever stumbles across this small venture of mine finds some joy and humour from my cakes. Maybe even a sense of being understood. Sending love and positive energy to all🤍
