The Story of How these Afghanz came to be
My daughter D’Zaiah turned 21 today and we celebrated her birthday on Saturday.
Afghanz were our party favours and were a hit!
The table was cleared in 5 minutes.
Afghanz started because of this girl.
On her 1st birthday 20 years ago I made Afghanz for the first time. They were a hit!
Then we moved from Wellington New Zealand to Brisbane Australia when she was 6.
A friend who ate my Afghanz at D’Zaiah’s bday asked me to make them in Brisbane for her husbands birthday.
Thats when I knew I was on to something good because people were loading up their bags with these Afghanz.
Realising Kiwis living here were a market for quality Afghanz I started my business. Aussies who have had these Afghanz love them.
When D’Zaiah was 13 she was selected in the Qld Samoan Basket Ball group traveling to Las Vegas and LA. It was expensive, so Afghanz as a fundraiser was born.
She later was selected to the Samoan under 18 FIBA Asia cup team to travel to India.
We’ve been to Vegas LA NYC Hawaii India Noumea And New Zealand all paid for by Afghanz.
Along the way we have fundraised for many more young people playing basketball Netball Soccer Rowing Rugby, Rugby League Volley Ball and Dance.
5 years ago my niece Leena Vaifale-Muliaga started making them in Sydney where SaMove Cultural Movement has them featured in their divine dessert tables at huge events in Sydney.
Leena has grown a following in Sydney.
We have raised more than $50,000 for kids in sport and satisfied a lot of party guests with this one biscuit.
Cool story😂👏🏽
Happy Birthday my beautiful daughter xox
