IMPORTANT - Mural Reinstallation will now be WEDNESDAY 3:30pm.
Dearest Healesville Community, the weather forecast is Wind and Rain this afternoon and evening, which is really not good for mural installations!
Wednesday is dry so I would like to now install Wednesday afternoon 3:30pm after school and because Thursday is due to be sunny the mural will have plenty of time to cure in the sun.
If you are interested in helping please leave a message here and watch this post and any further updates will be here. It is fun to be part of it and we are possibly going to have a story in the Mail.
Any questions phone me, 0411 446070,
thanks! Kate

NEWS UPDATE: i finally have a clearer picture re what might have happened. On Wednesday the mural was fine and in tact. On Wednesday after some heavy rains, the final additional assault of rain has possibly finally drenched itself under the mural and lifted it, causing the whole thing to slip like a mud slide. Donna Simnett, who works at Coles saw it at 5am Thursday morning like this and then apparently cleaners came by and I guess pulled the rest down and discarded it. As they didn’t inform the shopping centre management they had no knowledge of that when I ask and were as flummoxed as we were. A security guard had noticed a panel pulled down and had sent pictures to centre management but didn’t know the rest of the story. So...... I think this means we can all rest easy, it was a possibly due to a natural weather event! The really good thing is that so many people have expressed support for the mural and for this way of honouring our young men of the community. We will still reinstall and pray the wild weather will stay away another couple of months. Please check the page for installation updates as rain is now forecast tomorrow. Thank you, Kate

MURAL REINSTALL
Dear friends and Community, thank you for all your comments of concern and outrage about the mural destruction.
We community are going to reinstall it.
Council wants this to happen.
Burgess Rawson(the shopping centre management) want this to happen.
And it is clear to me that our Community wants this to happen.
Would you like to help?
We do not yet know who did this or why but we will rally and rebuild the mural that showcases the valuable young men of our community.
Reprinting will take place this weekend and I plan to reinstall from 2pm on Monday (weather dependent, watch for posts). I already have one volunteer but would like 2 or 3 more. I would love our young men to join us after school to help install, as they did the first time. Please message if interested.
Thank you everyone for your support and care for our young men, because they matter.
Kate
