This is a very belated post (sorry!) but I absolutely loved making this cake for Megan and her husband Lachlan. Megan was my first ever physio supervisor when I was a student which made it that bit more special being asked to make her wedding cake all these years later!
Megan’s cake choices were chocolate and salted caramel mudcake. They were layered and covered in Swiss meringue buttercream, torched italian meringue, salted caramel drip, fresh fruit and edible gold leaf.

I wish all the happiness for Megan and Lachlan for the rest of their future 💕

My gorgeous niece, Sienna, turned 3 on the weekend! I can’t believe how quick the time has gone. To celebrate, Sienna had an under the sea party and requested a mermaid cake with a pink octopus! She was so excited for the cake she ate the fondant seaweed and starfish off the side before the cake could be cut 😂

A 5 layer raspberry and white chocolate mudcake with Swiss meringue buttercream was the perfect way to celebrate Megan’s gorgeous pink baby shower!

These photos are a few weeks old, I haven’t had a chance to post thanks to a netball injury, but Megan is now holding her bundle of joy in her arms!

A huge congratulations to Emma and Jays on their wedding. The brief for this cake was country rustic wedding with a relaxed feeling. This theme suited the couple perfectly and made for a special day. To help Emma and Jays celebrate their day I created a 5 layer salted caramel mudcake, with Swiss meringue butter cream and home made salted caramel sauce. It was topped with Baby’s breath flowers and fresh berries. The cake was accompanied by gluten free caramel mud cupcakes.

Jumping on the latest Melbourne lockdown trend. As creamy as a New York baked cheesecake but much fluffier is the burnt basque cheesecake! Perfect to be eaten at a picnic or in front of the tv for your latest Netflix binge.

It’s been a tough time in Melbourne lockdown and I hope everyone is taking care of themselves. Make sure you do some exercise, enjoy the sun and, most importantly, get vaxxed so we can see loved ones💙

Happy 2nd birthday to my beautiful niece Sienna Ruby 💕

It’s been a while in between posts, so I was very excited to make this cake! Thanks to some pretty decent blood clots in my leg I didn’t actually get a chance to bake the cakes this time, but I was still able to decorate them with Swiss meringue buttercream and gorgeous sprinkles for the birthday girl!

Did someone say burnt butter-Nutella stuffed-unicorn sprinkle-chocolate chip covered cookie?? No? Just me? That’s ok, it’s means I just don’t have to share 😉 these were a perfect iso-Sunday afternoon baking treat.

On another note, I understand how tough the times currently are. Even in what feels like a never ending lockdown, it’s important to maintain balance in your life. Make sure you’re getting outside, enjoy the sun and get the fresh air. We’re almost there Melbourne! 👊🏻💙

This is what boredom on a freezing, rainy and cold weekend in lockdown looks like. A caramilk and blueberry baked cheesecake, topped with fresh blue berries. Now, if only someone could come over and help me eat it 😂

I don’t know how everyone else seems to be passing the time in lockdown but baking is definitely one of my favourite hobbies at the moment. There hasn’t been many pictures though because the food is normally cut up and I eat it straight away 🙈
Pictured here with my paint by numbers (side note, these things take forever to do!) are some very fun sprinkle melting moments!

I don’t know how everyone else in Melbourne is currently feeling, but I am definitely on the corona coaster. Some days I’m up at 6:30 for yoga and am contemplating whether I should start an instagram page for my plants (yes, I’m becoming a crazy plant lady) and other days I get sick of Netflix asking me if I’m still watching my show for the third time and have finished an entire bag of chips. So I think, however you’re getting through this lockdown, be kind to yourself, do some exercise and bake some delicious food. Melbourne, we’ve got this 👊🏻💙 @ Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

Huge congrats to Kim and Dean on their wedding day! I wish you all the happiness in your future 🌷💖

When I got this order, I’ll admit, I was a little scared. The bride is a coeliac and so obviously the cake had to be gluten free and completely free of contamination. I set up a ‘gluten free’ area of my kitchen and triple washed everything 🙈petrified of making a bride sick on her wedding day of all the days! Very happy to report that everything turned out completely fine! The final cake was 6 layers of gluten free salted caramel mudcake with vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream topped with natives.

I never would’ve thought that I would one day have to ask my local Woolies employee (very politely) if I could buy one of the egg cartons put aside because they have multiple broken eggs 😅 I needed one more egg for this hot cross bun recipe and there were no eggs left on the shelves. It really is a crazy time we are living in.

The grey rainy Melbourne weather is perfect for relaxing with one of these freshly baked hot cross buns with a cup of tea this afternoon. I hope everyone is staying safe x

A 5 layered spiced caramel cake with vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream and toffee shards is the perfect way to celebrating the big 3.0! 🎂
