FIRST GROOMING COMPETITION. FIRST PODIUM. 🥉😭

We are SO incredibly proud of our girl Sarah May! 💙✂️

This week Sarah stepped onto the Ausgroom 2026 competition floor for the very first time, competing in the Teddy Bear category with the gorgeous Frank. 🐾

And she absolutely smashed it.

THIRD PLACE! 🥉🏆

Watching Sarah grow into the groomer she is today has been pretty bloody special.

The confidence.
The skill.
The attention to detail.
The willingness to learn, be challenged and keep pushing herself.

And then to put all of that work in front of professional grooming judges takes some serious courage.

Sarah and Frank made one hell of a team. 🤎

A massive thank you to Frank’s family for trusting us with their beautiful boy and allowing Sarah to prepare and compete with him. He was an absolute superstar through the entire experience.

Sarah, you should be ridiculously proud of yourself.

Because placing THIRD at your very first grooming competition is no small achievement.

WE DID A THING… 👀✂️🏆

Five Pooch Pawfection groomers.
Five incredible dogs.
One VERY big day at Ausgroom 2026! 🤩

Sarah May, Steph, Sarah Grace, Sophie & Chontelle all stepped onto the competition floor to compete in the Teddy Bear Category — and what an experience it was!

But what you see in these photos is only a tiny part of what went into getting there.

The night before was spent bathing, drying and prepping our dogs, packing grooming equipment, tables and basically half the salon 😂

Then alarms went off VERY early.

We were leaving home around 5:30am, arriving by 7am to unload and set up, with pre-judging kicking off at 8am.

Then it was GO TIME. ✂️🔥

Competing puts you completely outside your comfort zone.
Your work is right there to be examined and judged alongside some incredibly talented groomers.

And that is exactly why we did it.

To learn.
To challenge ourselves.
To improve our skills.
And to keep becoming better groomers for the dogs we get to work with every single day. 💙

A HUGE thank you to Frank, Romey, Pia, Scout & Polly — our little superstars who represented Pooch Pawfection beautifully. 🐶✨

And especially to their amazing owners for trusting us with their babies and allowing them to be part of something so special. We genuinely couldn’t do this without you.

And to our team, families and friends who helped us prep, pack, carry gear, set up, calm nerves, support us and cheer us on — THANK YOU. 🥹

It really does take a village.

🐾 **COOLER WEATHER DOESN’T MEAN FLEAS & TICKS DISAPPEAR!** 🐾

It’s easy to think flea and tick prevention can take a break during the cooler months… but unfortunately, these little pests don’t always get the memo. 🫣

🦟 **Fleas can survive indoors all year round**, especially in warm homes, bedding and carpets.

🕷️ **Ticks can still be active during cooler weather**, and prevention is much safer than relying on finding one before it causes a problem.

We regularly see dogs in the salon, which is why keeping your dog’s **flea and tick prevention up to date** is important for your own pet AND the other dogs around them.

A few simple reminders:
🐾 Keep flea & tick treatments up to date year-round
🐾 Check your dog regularly — especially after walks through bush, long grass or scrub
🐾 Wash bedding regularly
🐾 Know what product your dog is on and when the next dose is due
🐾 Speak with your vet about the most suitable prevention for your dog

**Don’t wait until you find a flea or tick to think about prevention.** 💙

Prevention is always easier than dealing with an infestation — or a very sick dog.

To our wonderful Pooch Pawfection clients,

From **Monday 14th September 2026**, there will be an increase to our grooming prices.

Like all businesses, our costs continue to increase, and this adjustment allows us to continue providing the level of care, quality products and professional grooming that we pride ourselves on.

We have tried to keep our increase as reasonable as possible while continuing to invest in our team, training and the standard of care we provide every dog who comes through our doors. 🐾

Our updated price list will be available shortly.
