With a busy start to the year. We’re just finishing off another Dodge R5P7. It’s a really nice bit of gear, it will make 850+ Hp and will turn in the vicinity of 9300-9400 rpm. I’ve done a little video of the valve gear that’s in this engine to show the motor enthusiasts how nice it is.

A few stats on the motor - no adjuster on the rocker, these are shimmed for adjustment - the rocker bar has spring oiler jets in - valve spring installed height is set off coil bind and work back from there - Titanium valves, both with 7mm stems - 7/16, .185 wall pushrods - spray bar oiler for the flat tappet camshaft. 800+ lift.

Check the video out. Whilst it’s only of the top end, don’t panic, underneath is just as nice 😉😝

A little Dyno time at with a 358cui Dodge R5 engine on Friday. This was the 2025 project and was great it see it finished and it run up nice.

Made 818hp & 542ft pnd. Peak Hp at 8600rpm

Last weekend Straight Line Speed Trials were run at the ski gardens at Lake Mulwala. Some cracking times were set and a few new records in the books.

Graham Haines travelled all the way from New Zealand for his 3rd time to finally take away my 27cc Sport Hydro Record and set it at a blistering 127.448kmh (79mph) 2 way average with a top speed of 133kmh. A fantastic effort running an Omen 27 engine.

Also a special mention to Eric Arlich for recording a pass of 199kmh with his 10cell electric hydroplane. Epic fast.

Well done to everyone that attended.

The Australian Model Boat Nationals have been run and done between Easter and Anzac Day at the incredible Wide Bay RC Power Boat Club. Well done to the club and all the competitors, looks like it was a great event.

A massive congratulations to the guys using Omen motors in there boats. Below is a list of the place getters that I know of. It’s extremely gratifying to see so many guys using my engines.

Huge Shoutout to Andrew Andreou for his epic heat race time of 56 seconds with his Twin Petrol Hydro. Most likely the fastest recorded ‘Petrol’ heat race time in Australian history.

With the Australian Model Boat Championships running in April at Hervey Bay. I thought I’d share a video of Chris De Silva’s twin petrol hydro doing some practice. Chris is running 31cc Omen Big Games in this setup and certainly looks like it’s making some lap speed. Will be one to watch.

It’s been a massive weekend of boat racing big and small for the Omen Race Engines racers

We raced the ‘Rastus’ 6ltr at Raymond Terrace on Saturday & Sunday. Winning the NSW Title for 6ltr displacement, 3rd in the King of the River and being fastest qualifier for the Greg Lewis - Hi Flya but unfortunately spinning in the first turn finishing 4th.

Then up north at Hervey Bay, the Qld State Championships were ran at the epic venue of John Andersons, Wide Bay RC Power Boat Club.

Some fantastic results with a 1st in Twin Open Petrol Hydro & 1st in 27cc Petrol Tunnel both steered by Andrew Andreou. Also a cracking 2nd place in 27cc Petrol Sports Hydro driven by Graham Haines all the way from NZ. A couple of other notable racers of Chris De Silva & Mick Bet from MCM boats having a great run.

Big congrats to Andrew running a 1 minute flat race time with his twin hydro for the 5 lap, 1500 metre course. There’s more speed to come with him not getting the cleanest run and still posting that time.

Congratulations to everyone at both race meetings and thanks to those who support me.

Some Exciting News for the RC Boaters

Introducing our all new,
31cc Omen Big Game &
34cc Omen Big Game Zenoah Engines

We’ve decided to add to our range of Zenoahs. Over the last few months we’ve been working on these 2 new versions.

The 31cc (310pum) is still a gold top engine running a +2mm stroke and the 34cc (340pum) is also a +2mm for the red top engine.

The exciting thing is, on both these versions we’ve managed to keep the barrel height at its traditional height. This alleviates the issues with free porting that we commonly face with adding stroke.

A proud day in The Omen camp watching Rastus win the ‘Vic Currie Invitational’ and then going on to take out the ‘King of the River’ at the Taree Power Boat Spectacular on the weekend. The motor went well all weekend and has come home in one piece. A bit of maintenance to do and then onto Dargle in June.

Well done to all the competitors for the weekend.

A flashback to February, racing the Rastus at the Melton Gold Cup weekend. The boats getting better each time we race it and Reso’s getting more comfortable in it. We’ve been struggling with handling in the turns and we’ve been working hard on setup. Motor ran great all weekend. We’re super keen for Easter at Taree.

You can only get better when you test yourself against some of the best.
