Hey Folks,

It’s with huge disappointment that we have to announce the cancellation of our planned Chessboxin' Round 2 event with of the mighty Wu‑Tang Clan.

We were recently informed by GZA’s management that he will be unable to attend the event.

From what we understand, this decision stems from a combination of factors and unforeseen circumstances.

Since receiving this news, we’ve explored every option to find a suitable substitute (including another Wu‑Tang member), but unfortunately, it just wasn’t possible.

The last time we hosted GZA, he was an absolute professional, and the event remains one of the true highlights of everything we’ve done since starting The Gospel Whiskey.

The pairing of chess, community, hip hop, and whiskey is such a natural fit: social, inclusive, and rich with culture.

As a long-time hip-hop nerd, it’s exactly the type of event I dreamed of creating when we started this business, so I’m genuinely sorry we can’t bring it to life again this time.

Given the circumstances, we’ll be issuing full refunds to everyone who purchased tickets.

As a small gesture of thanks for anyone who signed up or showed interest in the event, we’d also like to offer you a discount code for our webstore: CHECKMATE valid until the 26th March 2026.

Look for The Gospel Green Caravan Bar for drinks, and the Green Stall for tastings and special bottles you won’t find online.

Do the rest of your Christmas shopping with a can of our Whiskey Sour or Rye & Cola in hand, just follow the crowd to the Caravan and the large Gospel Bar beside the stage.

A good reason to shop local, slow down, and enjoy the artisans, music, and food in the end-of-year madness.
