After 27 years, KROL BAKERY has reopened in Melbourne. With the same delicious breads introduced to Australia in the 1980s and 1990s by Jan Krol (including Sourdough, Fruitloaf, traditional Dutch fruit buns, plus a few additions to the menu) Krol Bakery opened its doors last Thursday. The first 3 days of bringing these artisan breads to the community – and at an affordable price – have been unbelievable: we’ve sold out virtually every day! The support from the local community has been both humbling and unanimously positive. Whilst there is plenty of sadness that my dad is no longer here to see his bread again making so many people happy, I think he would have been proud to see his beloved business thriving, once again! Special thanks to Rachel Grove, Sonja Krol, my wonderful family and everyone who has made the reopening of Krol Family Bakery a reality.
