‼️ New Trading Hours ‼️
CLOSED Monday and Tuesday starting tomorrow xo
One thing leads to another: After treating ourselves to some rare time off this weekend, the heavy, seven day, never stop slog fog has cleared. Navigating the ups and downs of small business ownership this winter of 2023 will be immeasurably easier if we schedule in regular downtime. We’re calling it a “Week End”. Ironically, it will take place at the start of the traditional work week.
We are a very small team. We like it that way. 2020 taught us that lesson. Running a cafe in the suburbs during that time was like you went to sleep owning a small local shop, knowing what each day would bring, and woke up with the suddenly increased and shifting demand of a mid-sized coffee factory, if such a thing existed. Almost overnight we had to try to scale up our business to meet that demand. And it definitely had that relentless automated factory feel. It was a good peek into a possible future. Our takeaway- we like keeping it local, personal, small.
The downside of small is that every staff hiccup becomes a staff stomach ulcer. There’s not always a backup at the ready, an understudy in the wings, an easy and equal replacement.
So we treasure our staff, they’re all gems. They’ve been rolling with the changes, learning on the fly or training while growing extra arms to keep things ticking along during a rush. For all of our sakes, designating closed days gives us time to recover from these hectic last few months, not be stretched thin on a daily basis and offer you more consistency when we are trading.
Doesn’t that sound good? Win-win, I’d say xo
