It is with heavy heart that I will unfortunately have to close our cake business until further notice. All cake orders until the end of May will be honoured and no further orders will be taken as of today.
My husband is ill with chronic kidney disease and hasn’t been able to work for a year now and let’s all be real…living expenses have skyrocketed. I’m a very family oriented woman and so in order to support him, I’ve had to cut back on my full time work in order to be with him at the dialysis clinic 3 times a week. He is on the transplant list and we’re hoping to get that lifesaving call soon. Your continued support with orders helped get us through financially.
It’s crunch time now and we’ve had to accept defeat that with increasing interest rates, we can no longer afford to stay in our home which hold the kitchen license for Eat That Cake. We will hopefully be able to move to another place soon but I’m not yet sure if I will be able to apply for a kitchen license with Brisbane City Council as the requirements are quite strict.
In the meantime…I will continue to post pics of cakes I haven’t yet posted. I will continue to do cakes but not as a business, but as a hobby. I love cake decorating too much to just let it go.
