I know it’s not straight, but hear me out!!!
I don’t really know what possessed me to make a 16-layer chocolate cake… but once I started stacking, there was no turning back 🍫

Layer after layer of chocolate cake and buttercream, covered in chocolate sprinkles because apparently I wasn’t finished making life difficult for myself.

I’ll admit, somewhere towards the top she started leaning ever so slightly, but after stacking 16 layers I think she’s earned the right to have a bit of character. 😅

She might not be perfectly straight, but she’s rich, ridiculously chocolatey and honestly one of the most fun cakes I’ve made.

Now the real question… who thinks they could finish a slice?

I never expected a reel about cinnamon scrolls to spark one of the biggest debates I’ve seen… 😂🤎

Hundreds of thousands of people later, everyone seems to have a different opinion on what makes the perfect cinnamon scroll.

Mine? Soft buttermilk dough, a rich brown butter cinnamon filling, and a generous layer of cream cheese frosting. 🤤

Whether you’re team extra frosting, crispy edges, gooey centre, or somewhere in between… I think we can all agree there’s no such thing as too much cinnamon.

I’ve been seeing these brown butter cinnamon scroll croissants all over TikTok, so I had to give them a go 🤎🥐

Safe to say my maths skills were definitely on display when I cut the dough… those triangles are anything but even 😂 But for a first attempt, I’m pretty happy with how they turned out.

When Tim Hayden came to Adelaide, I had the chance to meet him at his meet & greet, have a great chat, and even make him a custom cake featuring the Hagley West Watches logo and the iconic “Love Your Journey” slogan.

It’s pretty crazy to think I’ve followed his journey from selling and launching his watch brand from his kitchen, and now I was standing there chatting with him while handing over a cake I’d made just for him.

As a young entrepreneur, it was inspiring to chat about business, backing yourself, and the journey of building something from the ground up. It’s always motivating to hear from people who have been through the highs and lows of growing a brand.

There’s nothing better than watching an idea come to life and seeing the smile when it’s finally revealed. It’s a surreal moment as a baker when you actually get to be there to witness THE MOMENT in person 🥹🫶
