I thought my Turkish spindle was gone for good and that I’d be replacing it for Christmas…

But this morning...I FOUND IT. 🎄✨
Christmas came early.

If you spin, you know the feeling: when the urge hits, it can’t wait until tomorrow or next week. It’s now or never.

This Cocobolo wood Turkish spindle, from Riley Wood and Fibre Arts, was purchased 11 years ago. Still beautiful. Still spinning like a dream. I had to give it a little test spin straight away.

The search also unearthed a graveyard of unfinished projects 🤫. A few are worth finishing… others are ready to be frogged and transformed into something entirely different.

Me from 10 years ago has different taste than me today. Past projects, whether finished or unfinished, are like a time capsule of memories.

Geogradient Set 6 is my favourite. The 3 colours on the right originally started as experiments. Some colours are not always love at first sight but the more I look at it the more it grows on me and when combined with the right colours it's like magic. Usually the sets I like don't sell, I take it as a sign 😂.

The two colours on the left, Nightshade and Cinnamon, were calling me and we had a conversation and decided Elemental needed to be in this picture too 😄. Do you have conversations with your yarn too? Often they are telling me I need to cast them on or pet them. 😂 Hope you're having a lovely Friday. xx

Love this group of colours we dyed up for a customer to order. I wonder if it will be for a fade.

Colours: Coastal, Elemental, Equinox, Let It Snow,Hold the Mustard, Cinnabar and Geisha.

The body of my Arco Iris sweater is done. I am really happy with the fit. The pattern is fitted so I made it a couple sizes bigger for a more relaxed fit. Love the little cable detail on the bottom ribbing. Now knitting on the sleeves at the same time in case I get low on yarn. The yarn is Exotica DK in Eve, Equinox, Sable, Coral and Bronze. How are your winter knits coming along? What are you making?
