{A GENTLE REMINDER} There is a real human being behind every small business.
I work full-time, run a household, have a family, and make cakes around all of those commitments because it’s something I love doing.
Megs Makes may be a business, but it’s also a small, home-based operation run by one person. I don’t have a team answering messages around the clock… and I sleep! Heaven forbid a girl is in bed, asleep at 1:30am and not replying to Mick’s message fast enough.
Sorry bro.
Please remember that sending a message doesn’t mean you’re entitled to an immediate response. Messaging after 10pm and then following up with “??” at 1:30am because you haven’t received a reply is neither reasonable nor respectful.
I haven’t even had my morning coffee yet, no one wants to deal with me before that. Trust me.
I understand that everyone has their own timelines, plans and last-minute requests, but your urgency doesn’t automatically become mine.
I will always do my best to respond to enquiries and help where I can, but I also need to sleep, spend time with my family, work my full-time job and have a life outside of making cakes.
Please treat small business owners with the same courtesy, patience and respect you would expect for yourself. There’s a person behind the business, and we deserve boundaries just as much as anyone else.
