Binge eating is one problem that keeps re-surfacing for me now and then. Covid just makes it so much easier to binge eat as stress or anxiety levels are sometimes on the higher side.

Do you binge eat when you are stressed, emotional, irritated or confused?

Or do you love food so much so that you can't get enough of a moderate portion size?

Either which ways, the root of the binge eating is entirely different than what it may seem. It is healthy to figure out what leads you to binge and fix it before it affects your health.

This warm cherry crumble with a scoop of ice cream would be the perfect dessert for this summer heat! Cherries taste way better when they are cooked and you can find out yourself by trying this easy recipe! 😊️
Refined sugar free
Flour free
Gluten free
Ingredients

For cherries prep:
2 cups cherries (pitted)
3tsp powdered palm sugar
1/4tsp salt

For Crust:
1cup almonds
1cup rolled oats
2 small bananas (120gm)
2Tbs melted butter
2Tbs coconut sugar.

Method:

🌟Mix the cherries prep ingredients and pour over a lined baking tray.
🌟 Blend the almonds in blender. Add all other ingredients until oats has been powdered well and a dough textured is formed.
🌟 Cover the cherries with the dough.
🌟 Bake at 180C for 25-30 mins or until crumb turns golden brown.
🌟Serve the crumble warm with a scoop of ice cream.

Exercise in any form has multiple benefits in general but how do you find the motivation to make it a habit? The secret for me has been to simply START and keep going for a week! The first day is always hard where i would struggle to do a few reps until a few days after where i can't feel the burn with just a few. Have you ever been in a position of doubt, fear or hesitation to try something new. Or start off with new year resolutions but never end up achieving them? We always think about the goals but forget to create systems to achieve that goal.

what's goal and what's systems?
If you want to lose weight, it's a goal. If you plan on exercising daily in order to reach that goal, it is called system. Systems help to create a habit to give us direction on what we want to achieve. So at the end of the day, making those tiny changes everyday that is out of the comfort zone leads to achieving those goals.

Palm Jaggery:

How it is made: Palm juice or padani from the palm trees is filtered and boiled in a huge vessel for more than 2 hours. The syrup gets thicker and viscous. When cooled in water,it becomes a firm caramel ball.

benefits:

It is known to improve digestion, helps with cold, reduces menstrual cramps. Its rich  in iron and folate and prevents anaemia.

Palm jaggery contains both potassium and sodium that play an important role in maintaining acid level in the body thus managing blood pressure.  It is a great replacement to white sugar as  it removes toxins from every part of the body, leaving you healthy.

It helps with water retension in the body which leads to weight loss. Whether its warm water or tea , addition of Jaggery (gur) in it,  helps it to fight symptoms of cold related diseases. It strengthen the bones, thereby reducing joint pain and other related syndromes like arthritis. Hello everyone! I have been inactive here for few months cause of a couple of reasons. Due to a family emergency i had to travel to India. Post which i got tested positive for covid and had to be in quarantine and take care of my health! Now am feeling much better and back to work!!

What is glycemic index?

The Glycemic Index (GI) is a relative ranking of carbohydrate in foods according to how they affect blood glucose levels. Carbohydrates with a low GI value (55 or less) are more slowly digested, absorbed and metabolised and cause a lower and slower rise in blood glucose and, therefore usually, insulin levels.

Listed above are the sugars with low GI. White/refined sugar has a GI of 60-65. When white sugar is consumed, it can raise your blood sugar instantly. This leads to glucose build up in the blood which can cause issues later in life. Also, though high in calories, one doesn't feel full and craves for more food thus leading a path towards obesity.

Do replace white sugar with any of the above sugars for a healthier alternative.
